Goat Talk (2020)

‘Goat Talk' is a whip-smart performance that escalates between performer Leah Landau and a taxidermy baby Goat.

The performer explains to the audience she is afraid of death. Using a wetsuit as a shield she completes strange, virtuosic dance spectacles to fill her glass with liquid from a water-cooler.  She slides down next to the Goat to talk about cryogenically frozen pets, age, contemporary dance and mating.

Disguised as naive and ridiculous , ‘Goat Talk’ gradually escalates from an uncanny body-voice transfer between artificial object-animal and performer into a sophisticated and daring physical commentary on the contemporary world and its hidden agendas.

Balancing between dance and live animation, action and language, presence and absence, 'Goat Talk' is ‘low-fi entertainment at its best, pursuing an eerie equilibrium of ghosting, hosting and housing form.’
