Movie Theatre and Other Practices

Starting with a focus on fluids, the spine, breath and voice, ‘Movie Theatre and Other Practices’ is a dance class; an invitation to merge practices and dance together towards unknown bodily landscapes, imaginations and sensations.  In Movie Theatre, I will suggest choreographic and time-based containers so the dancer can act as an agent and collectively call on warm-ups, practices, scores, a dance or several dancers, dance icons from our histories and remix them together, taking it in turn to lead, follow, follow on, get lost, return, depart and return again. Your own research/interests are welcome.
Inspired from 'In The Blink of An Eye' by Walter Murch-  a book on the aesthetic and practical choices of cutting film. 

Open to anyone with a movement practice. 

I will weave in Other Practices from research I'm currently doing: back-body landscapes, long-exposure photography, the tongue, volcanic sound making, amongst others.
